AMEN TO THAT !

Those freckles on my left cheek have been there since forever (read: high school) and it gets darker and bigger as I get older. Last Tuesday was my third session of Q-Switched Laser Treatment in DRx, although it is still not completely gone yet but I am very satisfied that it looks so much lighter now. Besides, my dull skin is now looking brighter and smoother too!

What is DRx Q-SWITCHED LASER TREATMENT?
Q-Switched Laser is one of the lasers that is FDA approved for treating pigmentations and to remove deep hyper-pigmented conditions like tattoos and birthmarks. The laser delivers energy to targeted dark spots. The energy absorbed by melanin, thus breaks down and disintegrates the pigments into smaller fragments, and is eliminated by the body's natural lymphatic system. You will see lesser and lightened spots in after several treatments, with treatment every three weeks to remove all spots and to prevent new one.

This treatment is highly recommended for :
  • Pigmented conditions
  • Minor acne pigmented marks
  • Skin rejuvenation
  • Tattoo and birthmark removal

Procedure of DRx Q-SWITCHED LASER TREATMENT.
This is a simple procedure which requires only 30 minutes (+ another 30 minutes if you prefer to apply numb cream beforehand).

Is DRx Q-SWITCHED LASER TREATMENT Painful?
In general, a laser treatment is not a painful treatment. This experience could be different for everyone because we all handle pain differently.

I have a low pain tolerance. During my first session, I felt a slight (very bearable) pain - stinging sensation as the laser moved around my face even after I applied numb cream. As for second and third session, I did not feel the pain, not at all!

DRx Q-SWITCHED LASER TREATMENT Downtime.
The downtime for this treatment is relatively low, about 3 to 5 days, depending on individual skin type.

On the fifth day, those scabs on my face completely fell off. Honestly, it wasn't a big deal to me, I still went out for my daily activities. I think I looked perfectly fine ;).

The spots tend to look darker before it looks lighter, so do not be afraid!

DRx Q-SWITCHED LASER TREATMENT Aftercare.
It is crucial to keep skin moisturised and protect skin from sun exposure especially during the first week after the treatment. Remember to apply the smoothing cream given by the clinic, and apply moisturiser and sunscreen more often.

while this post is in collaboration with DRx, all opinions expressed are my own.

My mum always tells me how important it is to take care of my skin, but it isn’t until recent years that I really start to listen. I have started noticing fine lines under my eyes, bigger eye bags, uneven skin tone on my forehead and even darker freckles along my left cheek, which kind of freak me out a little.

While many may think that my skin is still looking fine for the age of 25, (well it may be) but I know if I don’t start taking proper care for it now, it is definitely going to be downhill from here.

Therefore, one of my 2017’s resolutions is to focus on my skin. In attempts to solve all my skin woes, I have decided to book my first consultation with DRx. I am very picky when it comes to choosing a dermatologist, after reading so many good reviews about DRx online, I am quite convinced that they will be able to deliver good service and results.
2 weeks ago, I met Dr. Lazwani who was appointed to be my doctor. She was very professional and friendly, I felt comfortable in asking her many questions. She examined my skin conditions and prescribed me with 8-step Derma-Rx skincare products.  According to her analysis, my skin is slightly dull and the hyperpigmentation issue is quite bad.

Once the consultation session was over, Beatrice (the consultant) ushered me to a room. She patiently explained and wrote down all 8-step products in details on a user guide in case I forget when and where to apply.

I have been using Derma-Rx products solely for about 2 weeks now, I am not expecting significant changes overnight but I love how great my skin feels whenever I apply these products.  I especially love their hydrator and sunscreen!

I am also scheduled for a few sessions of Q-Switched Laser Treatment as suggested by Dr.Lazwani, can’t wait to be back and bid those freckles goodbye!

This year, I spent a few days in Hanoi with Abner's
family during the Chinese New Year. We booked
a 5D4N ground tour arrangement through a local
agency. Personally, I am not a fan of package tours
because of the tight schedule, early mornings and
limited places to visit. However, if you are travelling
with elderly people, I strongly suggest you to just go
for package tours to save the hassle. You wouldn't
want them to wander around lost for hours
just to search for that one place.

I have been to Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) twice,
hence I have pretty much expected how this city
is going to be like - swarms of motorbikes and
people sitting on their tiny stools! The one place
that I was really looking forward to was the
Halong Bay, a trip to Hanoi is not complete
without visiting it they say.
